Description

A combination of practicality, charm, usability and affordability all conspire to ensure the Morris Minor is one of the must-have classics for many classic car enthusiasts.

The Morris Minor made its debut way back in 1948, yet there’s no sign of its appeal diminishing. If anything, its popularity grows stronger.

Complete with original Buff log book as well as the up to date current V5, our car is packed with history. The odometer reads 2100 miles and the large collection of MOT’s present with the car suggest that this is certainly the correct miles for recent years but of course, we can’t guarantee this to be original from new and would suggest this is unlikely. Why this car is particularly special to us is that we purchased the car many miles away from our workshops and unbeknown to us the car originated from right here in Ipswich, Suffolk. Having been registered from new at East Suffolk County Hall to a Mr Lawrence Fisher Cole.

Classic cars hold such beautiful stories and memories and this is why we love what we do here at Bridge Classic Cars.

Anyway, back to the Minor; the original Minor series was produced from 1948 until 1953, with an impressive 250,000 models being manufactured. The entire Minor production run through until 1971 with our 1949 four seat saloon being a wonderful example of the early series.

Affectionately known as the Morris Minor Lowlight, the series 1 was launched to market as the MM model before the facelift series II.

Early cars had a painted section in the centre of the bumpers to cover the widening of the production car from the prototypes. This widening of 4 inches is also visible in the creases in the bonnet and this can be seen on our car.
