The 1950s was a great decade for Jaguar. Not only did the legendary manufacturer win the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race 5 times, but the XK150 was unveiled to the world.
The XK150 was the final stage of the XK concept and still held on to its generational ties to the XK120 and XK140. It benefited from some fairly substantial changes though that made this car something to shout about. Originally fitted with a 3.4-litre engine (like ours), the XK150 had 210bhp, a top speed of over 123mph, and 216lbs/ft of torque. It was also Jaguar’s first model to be available with four-wheel disc brakes.
Our 1958 Jaguar XK150 is a full restoration project that has been restored in its entirety. Every nut and bolt has been restored and this beautiful classic car has been returned to all its former glory.
It spent some time in America before being shipped back to the UK in 2016 by the Beverley Hills Car Club to its new UK-based owner. It comes with extensive paperwork detailing its journey back to the UK and the work undertaken on it since returning. Since its production, it has been converted to a right-hand drive. It was originally produced as a left-hand drive due to being part of the production run aimed at the American Market.
The exterior is Cotswold blue while the interior complements beautifully in its grey colouring. This is a drophead coupe with the blue theme carrying on thanks to the dark blue soft top.
It has a 4-speed manual gearbox.
Jaguar Heritage Trust has provided a production record trace certificate (28th November 2016) that gives the car’s original details at the time of production. The trace certificate states:
