Description

At its launch in 1958, the MGA Twin Cam was heralded as a masterpiece of engineering from MG. To this day, the Twin Cam MGA is one of the most sought-after classic cars from the marque. The high-performance MGA was closer to a race car for the streets than the gentle, more serene motoring experience provided by the lesser-powered MGA 1500. Our 1959 MGA Twin Cam has a very special past, both on the road and on the track.

Finished in a charming light blue exterior with a contrasting deep black interior and hood, this 1959 MGA Twin Cam (one of just 1801 Roadsters) has recently been subjected to a full ground up, nut and bolt, bare metal restoration by some of the original TVR technicians restoring classic car from the original TVR factory in Blackpool. The customer who commissioned this work to be done is the son of the original owner. The original owner was Roger Andreason, team owner of Chevron Racing. Roger’s blue 1959 Twin Cam was club raced around the UK in the 1960s (which is when we believe the louvered bonnet was added to the car).

Our Twin Cam features the highly desirable 1600cc B series engine with twin Weber carburettors and 4 speed gearbox. The interior is without a doubt the best seat in the house. The car pulls cleanly and gently through each gear and the sound envelopes the cabin for the occupants to enjoy. This classic delivers one of the very purest driving experiences. The brakes are discs all round with the Twin Cam specific Dunlop centre lock wheels.
