It was Triumph who rocked the motoring world by announcing the first British petrol injection production sports car. The successor to that very car came the Triumph TR6, bringing new style, new features and new status to the fuel injection motoring.
Performance wise, this 6 cylinder, 2.5 litre, petrol injected powerhouse had few equals at the time. 0-50 in 6.5 seconds, 0-60 in 9 seconds. The 124bhp, CR Series with the J Type overdrive unit gives out a top speed of around 120mph, with roadholding and handling to match.
Our example really is as stunning as it looks. Finished in Saffron Yellow with Black, the car has been wonderfully cherished by it’s previous owner and comes with a full folder of TR specialist receipts detailing all of the works carried out. This vehicle has had a recent body-off restoration completed to a high standard with an uprated Bosch fuel pump, electric fan, and full stainless exhaust all fitted. With the summer show season looming, this is every bit a show car.
Accompanying this impressive example comes some of the car’s original marketing literature “The new TR6 has been created for the individual who knows what motoring is all about. Who is mature enough to appreciate superb engineering, who is eager to accept both the thrills and the responsibilities of power motoring allied to superb roadholding, the TR6 is one of the safest, swiftest and most responsible sports cars in the world.”
If that’s you, then here’s your chance to win a beautiful example.
