Introducing our Classic Corvette Club UK award winning 1979 5.7L V8 Corvette C3.
From the moment the 5.7L V8 barks into life, this all-American classic demands your attention. The burbling exhaust sings as you power along the road. Very few cars have the same theatricality as a classic Corvette.
Our Corvette has been in the UK since 1991 and has arrived from Corvette specialists Dromey Corvettes. Dromey Corvettes have owned the car three times in total, each time taking the car back as the owner changed up to a C5 or C6.
The history folder is one of the most comprehensive we’ve ever seen, a full A4 folder, 4″ thick, including no less than 27 past MOT certificates and most invoicing throughout it’s life.
Owned for the last few years by a self-confessed Corvette fanatic, the car has only just had a whopping £3,054 spent on it. Amongst other things, this invoice included a comprehensive service including plug leads/belts/filters/oils etc, a full set of four new stainless calipers, all pads/hoses etc, plus a completely rebuilt park brake system including cables, and even a new Bosch Silver battery.
The interior has had a stunning full piped leather re-fit, plus all new carpets, rear compartment frames and console plates etc. All carpeting re-newed, absolutely all weather-seals replaced including the t-top panel rubbers, new door cards & arm-rests. The dash top/front & speaker grills have been replaced via Eckler and then the fascia fitted with their most expensive Eckler Burr Walnut upgrade, all pro-fitted.
The body boasts perfect lines and gaps all round and the underside of the car is equally as good with a superb frame showing no signs of past welding.
The number matching engine has an Edelbrock Performer inlet topped with a 600 Holley, Performer Plus Cam & Timing Chain, Accel leads, Goodridge Hoses throughout, even the heater hoses, then a full Edelbrock dress kit – air cleaner, valve covers etc the list just goes on & on. New alternator, new starter motor, new battery etc. Removing any road wheel will reveal all new parts throughout, all new brakes, hoses, calipers, cables, even the m/cylinder. The exhaust exits through new Hedman tubular headers in to a full 2″ Powerflow system including Powerflow back boxes, again, all as new.
This C3 has the finest set of factory alloys we’ve seen in a long time, superbly polished and virtually as new. All are fitted with matching 255/60/15 white lettered tyres, all 7 to 8mm. Needless to say all the chrome lug nuts and centre caps are new.
The car drives as you would expect; strong, fast and jaw-dropping.
