This example of Ford’s very potent turbocharged Sierra was registered in November 1986 and has had just one single owner from new.  The indicated mileage on the odometer is 50,397 although looking at the enclosed paperwork suggests this total is actually 150,397 miles, with the car being kept (and maintained) in both England and Ireland ‑ and the Irish Garda greatly admiring it, apparently.

The car presents well, albeit with some minor faults such as the front bumper not fitting as flushly as it could and some cracks in the centre of the top of the dash. A very large bass speaker unit is installed in the rear load area ‑ suffice to say, the original Ford 1980s’ radio has gone, and a more modern and powerful Alpine unit is in its place. The car has was thoroughly re‑undersealed in 2019.
During 1994, the Cosworth had a new hot-run and tested engine fitted, acquired from Ford by performance specialist Graham Goode after Ford stopped building the Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4×4 in 1992. The engine was gas-flowed and balanced, and an uprated breather system, cooling system, front suspension strut brace, polished aluminium power steering tank kit and other parts were fitted at the same time – correspondence in the history folder from Graham Goode lists the modifications. The work amounted to £5225.98. There’s also a security system to Thatcham 2 specification fitted.

The history folder includes the V5C and bills from throughout the car’s life, with many from Graham Goode for servicing and other general maintenance, plus some from CAB Ford dealership in Cork, Ireland. There’s a selection of old tax discs, plus MoTs from 1995 (when the mileage was noted as 67,153), 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2010, 2011, 2016 and 2022 – with the current MoT expiring in July 2023.
