The 928 was designed to be a trend-setting grand tourer and was built to be lightweight, aerodynamic, and fast. Porsche developed a new V8 for what was meant to be a more usable and practical version of the now iconic 911. Then, once the S4 arrived, there were some clear changes that took the 928 to a whole new level of style and performance. The rear spoiler was an obvious addition while the well-designed air intakes added a very sporty look to the front fascia and, of course, the pop-up headlights with visible lenses certainly added personality to the already charismatic 928.
Our 1987 Porsche 928 is an eye-catching example of the sought-after series four transaxle GT car. Finished in Grand Prix White with a black leather-trimmed interior, it comes with a 5-litre naturally aspirated V8 which produces around 320bhp. The original flat-face 16-inch wheels have been put back on the car to replace the larger after-market ones that were fitted when it first arrived to us. The exterior underwent a paint refresh in 2016 when stone chipping and blemishes on the wing mirrors and trim were repaired.
With 136,000 miles on the clock, our 928 has been enjoyed in the way it was supposed to be – on the road!
It’s not all about looks and performance though; electric windows and sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, air conditioning, and cruise control make this a practical and comfortable car to use every day or as an extra special, fun weekend car. It has also had its boot load cover (parcel shelf) repaired in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.
Our 1987 Porsche 928 Series 4 comes with an extensive history file of past MOT certificates and a number of invoices detailing work and parts that have been paid for throughout the life of the vehicle.
